The Bergse Plassen consist of two lakes of 680,000 and 430,000 m2 with several islands. Most of the bank revetments are private property. In the past decades several suburbs of Rotterdam discharged their waste water in the Bergse Plassen, contaminating the bed material. The Hoogheemraadschap of Schieland (a regional waterboard) has dredged the Bergse Plassen.
Svašek Hydraulics has surveyed the post dredged technical condition of all the bank revetments in the Bergse Plassen. These technical conditions were recorded by photograph and described by the surveyor. Obstacles and cables were located by GPS and recorded. Finally water depth and silt thickness measurements were carried out.
